How CEC Publisher works

CEC Publisher opens TikTok's official Login Kit authorization flow. The creator signs in with TikTok and grants only the scopes configured for the integration. CEC Publisher does not ask the creator to type a TikTok password into CEC Publisher.

Using user.info.basic, CEC Publisher reads the basic identity returned by TikTok, such as approved account identifiers, display name, and avatar information, so the creator can verify the destination account before publishing.

Before Direct Post, CEC Publisher queries TikTok creator information. The application uses only privacy and interaction choices returned by TikTok for that creator rather than inventing unsupported options.

When the creator chooses Direct Post, CEC Publisher uses video.publish. The creator explicitly approves the write, the selected file is uploaded through TikTok's Content Posting API, and the application reads processing status until TikTok reports a terminal result.

When the creator chooses Upload to TikTok, CEC Publisher uses video.upload. The approved media is uploaded to TikTok and the application reads status until TikTok confirms that the content was sent to the user's Inbox editing flow. The creator can then continue editing/posting inside TikTok.

CEC Publisher can record non-secret operational evidence such as timestamps, result states, publishing identifiers, and media hashes for troubleshooting and continuity. Access tokens and refresh tokens are not intentionally included in public evidence bundles.
